Paranormal story: An alleged Jinn haunting

The house in my home city of Karachi inherited to my mother and her sisters after the passing of my maternal grandparents became a legal property dispute.
My mother's older sister demanded the entire property be put in her name.

She managed to take over the ground floor and place squatters in it, out of fear that she would loose the whole house.
The squatters switched places with their relatives various times when they'd leave for their village(s) while their relatives would occupy the ground floor.

They have stayed for a decade now. Upstairs is occupied by my mother's best friend and her servants as we live in North America.
In 2005 I visited Karachi and heard a rather strange story. According to my mother's friend, the squatters downstairs were afraid of the room at the back belonging to my late aunt who passed away in 1999.

My late aunt's beloved piano had also been placed into the room she lived in. The squatters claimed that they encountered a giant man threatening to hurt anyone who entered the room.
Late at night the piano would play. Then a day came when the room was opened and a cat came running out.

Many assumed the cat had been walking on the piano making it heard.

The story was ridiculed and laughed upon by my mother's friend. However my mothers friend herself spoke of a story that she slept alone upstairs one night. It was pitch dark and she claimed to have seen a white moon colored light move past her bed.
She then claimed to being chocked by something and tried to free her neck, however she could not feel anything touching her neck.

She struggled for a few minutes and tried calling out to the servants living in the quarters in the backyard. But she then became free.
Also according to her, the squatters complained to my aunt who put her there about this strange bearded man.

My aunt had come to the house and went into this allegedly haunted bedroom of my other late aunt. She took a copy of the Quran and recited some prayers. My aunt supposedly performed these rituals a several times.

I do not know if there is truth to any of this, but according to Pakistani mythology and ghost tales, when a house or room is left abandoned for a long period of time, it usually attracts spirits and becomes haunted.

Paranormal tale: A possible ghost encounter.

As stated in my other posts, I'm not a believer or a skeptic. I was however told that this incident is true by my late uncle who told me this story.
I am also unsure when it took place or where exactly, but if my memory serves correct, it happened somewhere in North America.

A man was driving on a highway and came across a young boy on the side of the street waving to get on. The boy wore a baseball uniform and hat.
Once the boy got onto the car, he urged the man through sign language to move onwards and kept pin pointing to a certain direction without speaking.

Next thing, they arrived at a crash site. A school bus seemed to have fallen off or collided with another vehicle (can't remember).
The man got out and tried to help the injured passengers. An ambulance and other medical help arrived. As people were leaving, the man noticed a stretcher with the blanket covering a body.

He lifted the blanket to find the body of same boy who led him to the bus crash. He was astonished. He told the medical teams and others that he was guided by this dead boy to the crash site. As the man got into his car to leave, he found the boy's baseball hat still sitting in the right passenger seat where the silent boy had been.

Paranormal story: A possible UFO encounter.

Author's note: I am neither a believer nor a skeptic. I am only repeating what I have heard.

This took place with my uncle (who is mentioned in my previous post) while he was a young boy and my their close friends (friends of my uncles and father) were playing in a back alley. This was in Karachi in the 1950s. Back then the city was safe, sparsely populated so they as children were free to play in the open.

As they were playing, they were encountered by a giant spherical shaped light about fifty feet in the sky. The close position of the sphere terrified them that they stood still.
The sphere them beamed a light on them for a period of five minutes, with them still terrified and paralyzed.

Why this light was beamed, no one knows. Possibly for observation. But after about this period of five minutes, the sphere's light switched off and it sped skywards at an incredible speed.

The boys were so terrified that they did not speak of their encounter. Only some years later, when the subject of UFOs was being discussed, my uncle spoke of his experience.
That's all I know of that incident.

Paranormal story: A possible ghost encounter

About a year after Mariam's death, a friend of me and my cousin's, Faraz in Karachi was spending the night at his home.
I mentioned Marian in another blog of mine who was assassinated by her husband.

According to my cousin, Faraz came to him at night and woke him up. He claimed he was going to the washroom where he saw Mariam's image in the hallway.

My cousin didn't believe him. But the same summer after the killing, I recall coming back to North America and having a dream. I saw Mariam on the same signal way on the way to my cousin's house.

This was a strange dream, since Mariam and I had no close acquaintanceship or anything of that sort; though we did spend enjoyable times during my youth entertaining ourselves and my cousin when he was a toddler.

But I saw her in the dream. On the intersecting roads on the same route to my cousins house. The signal turned red, all the vehicles stopped, Mariam crossed the road waving at me and calling out in Urdu "How are you X" (X is a substitute for my real name, which I avoid giving out on the Internet).

All of a sudden I was at my cousins bedroom on the top floor, with Mariam organizing my cousin's clothes.
But Mariam was dead I told myself. How can this be? This had to be a spirit. I darted to my cousin's father downstairs at their house and my uncle (cousin's father) said that her spirit will stay there, refusal to leave.

I woke up from the dream after that. Weather this dream of Mariam's position in Faraz's experience is connected or coincidental; I do not know. I am just sharing experienced which I have no way of knowing are real or not.

Paranormal story: A strange event in rural Canada.

Author's note: Stories such as this one does not reflect my beliefs in the supernatural. I am only repeating the details of an incident I heard.

It was around 1999 when my uncle told me of a strange story involving some distant relatives of mine whom I do not know personally; I don't believe I've ever met them.

These people were traveling to the west coast of Canada through the country side. As people might know, Canada being the world second largest country and having a population of just over thirty three million people is probably the least densely populated country in the world.

The story is that these relatives were driving from one Canadian city to another through the countryside. It was finally getting dark and they were in desperate need for a place to eat and rest.

They felt lucky when they spotted a motel in the middle of the empty countryside. But something felt strange. All the cars in the parking lot were red like their own. They checked in and went to their rooms to sleep.

Later next morning they found that except for their car the parking lot was empty and the motel deserted. Puzzled, they decided to continue their trip, but one of them wished they had access to a telephone.

Suddenly, right in front of them a telephone raised out of the ground in front of the car. Frightened, the relatives started the car and drove away from the motel. But in the car mirrors there was no reflection of this strange motel.

They looked back where the motel should have been, only to see nothing. The motel disappeared as if it was never there.
When the relatives reached the nearest town, they explained to a person at a gas station about what they had been through.

The puzzled person at the gas station claimed there is no motel or any town or city on their route for days and that they were in the first town going westward on that route.

Paranormal Story: A house possibly haunted by Jinns.

Author's note: Stories such as this one does not reflect my beliefs in the supernatural. I am only repeating the details of an alleged incident I heard.

Me and my parents had close family friends in Pakistan who now live in North America like us but in a nearby town outside of the city we live in.
Ever since they moved out of Pakistan, their house in Karachi has been left empty for quite some time, I believe it has been kept up for sale by them.

A few years ago, they told me of a strange incident involving a relative of theirs in Karachi.
It was late at night and this relative was driving near their empty house, so he decided to enter their compound just to take a look as he wasn't sure if it has been sold yet.

He climbed over the gate and entered the compound. All of a sudden, an adult woman and a few children (I don't know exactly how many) came out and so he turned back towards the gate to exist the compound, not wanting to upset them of his unexpected presence.

As he was leaving, he decided to take a last look and so he turned back and to his surprise, the woman and children were hovering above the ground. Terrified, he climbed over the gate and rushed to his car and sped away.

When he reached home, he emailed his relatives- our family friends- about what had happened. Apparently, this relative of theirs was a non-believer in the supernatural.
Our family friends responded to his message stating that they too heard strange voices and were touched by un-seen things when they lived in that house.

It is a wide-spread belief in South Asian Muslim societies that homes left unoccupied for longer periods of time get taken up by Jinns.

During my summer holidays in Pakistan in 2006, I passed by the house during the day time and noticed nothing unusual. Even during my childhood, I used to visit that house a lot, but never did I see or sense anything out of the ordinary.

Paranormal story: A possible witch atack.

Author's note: Stories such as this one does not reflect my beliefs in the supernatural. I am only repeating the details of an incident I heard.

During the summer of 2002, I was on summer holiday in my home city of Karachi in southern Pakistan.
During my father's childhood, his parents adopted a son called Ibrahim. A few of Ibrahim's grand sons had become close friends of mine. His granddaughter, sister of my friends had come to spend the night and be with my grandmother.

I got into talking to her about the super-natural, though I don't remember how we ended up with that subject.

She told me of an incident involving her older brother Imran and his friends. They were driving in a van one night in the outskirts of Karachi. They were passing by an area full of thick shrubs and bushes where they spotted an old woman searching through the bushes. Seeing that it was late at night with public transport closed, they offered her a ride home.

The woman turned towards them and seemed to hear their offer and moved towards the van. As she came closer the men noticed something awkward about her: Her feet were pointed backwards.

In Pakistani mythology, a woman with her feet pointed the opposite direction is a witch.
Seeing this, the men quickly shut the van's door and tried to speed away. But this "woman" caught up to the speeding van and grabbed on. Next thing she was banging on the windshield and dug her really long, sharp nails into the van's surface.

The terrified men tried increasing the speed, but it seemed to do no good and by this time the "woman" was screaming violently. The men then recited an Islamic prayer from the Quran, and the screaming witch's nails snapped, causing her to fall off the van.

Early in next morning the men found the outside of the van scratched with a bloody nail still dug deep into the metal skin.

My take on Erich Von Däniken's theories.

I have seen plenty of documentaries on Erich Von Däniken and read parts of his book chariots of the gods.
As a UFO skeptic who gives the benefit of doubt, I think of his theories that ancient civilizations came into contact with extraterrestrials are quite probable. Indeed, he does use strong evidence to support his claims, unlike most other UFO believers.

But as far as he goes on genetic engineering taking place in ancient Egypt by aliens or weather these sophisticated "astronauts" were even aliens, I recently developed second thoughts.
Regarding the genetic engineering in ancient Egypt, he bases his claims on artifacts that depict humans with animal heads or vice versa. Take the following images from ancient Egypt as examples:

This is rather far fetched since many ancient civilizations from Celtic to Vedic depict animals and sometimes people in them. Sometimes the animals are mythical. At other times real or sometimes they are joint with humans (ie. mermaids), so for ancient Egyptians to create similar depiction is nothing strange.

But coming to his main points, that ancient humans were visited by aliens based on the findings of technological artifacts such as model planes, runways, carvings of creatures in "space suits," I think they could be modeled after aliens or advanced beings- originating from Earth.

Let's start with the examples of the gold made model planes recovered from the remains of the Inca Civilization. Pictured below are the artifacts that were recovered:

To me as an aviation enthusiast, they deeply resemble slightly older fighter planes from the 1960s and 70s, single tailed planes to be exact such as the F-16 Falcon or the F-14 Tomcat (I'm not too familiar with military planes I'm more into airliners). From their shapes & designs, I can already tell they are definitely not modeled after any flying animal that I know of nor can their wings be flapped from that design, which most flying living things do to get airborne.
Flying fish and bats do not count since they glide and do not really fly.

Compare the Inca gold models to the F-11 Tiger:

Or even check out other artifacts that Mr Daniken presents of strange beings appearing to wear space suits.
There could be a possibility that they may very well be extraterrestrials, but maybe not. Maybe they were built by sophisticated Earthly beings. If modern-day humans can suddenly build machines that can fly faster than sound for the first time in their recorded history, why not before?

Many myths of advanced civilizations going to war as far back as 15,000 years ago are mentioned in various sources. What if this minority of advanced humans traveled world wide by planes and through underwater to the rest of mankind, creating these cargo cults. What if these "space suits" found on some artifacts by Mr Von Daniken are actually diving suits used by ancient humans to explore the seas?

That could be answer, or maybe not, since many ancient sources discussing these "gods" speak of them coming from the sky.
Many artifacts depicting these beings are also non-human looking.

In short, I would say his theories are convincing, even for skeptics. But some of these theories are far fetched like the ones mentioned above.

Possible reasons why governments have been trying to cover up UFO cases and evidence.

When I was doing reading and comprehension exercises on main themes of short articles at a school back in 2001-2002, I came upon a short article on my list about Alien & UFO Phenomenon in the 1940s-50s and how Science Fiction soared in popularity.
According to the article, fictional stories about visiting aliens were taken seriously and broadcast in radios all over.

One radio broadcast in particular that was mentioned in the article gave out a false alarm in the 1940s, causing a city-wide panic. And though the news broadcast, repeatedly stated this alien invasion alert was false (the article highlighting this factor), people completely ignored the radio and still were in a state of panic.

This interesting article, made me think of all the alleged UFO cover ups that the American government has been allegedly involved in. We read about them all the time in magazines, books, websites, articles (search UFO cover ups on google) or in The X-Files.

I started to ask myself, is this the reason why governments, the American government in particular? To avoid mass panic created out of false alarms, hoaxes and rumors?
If so the answer makes total sense.
For a long time hard-core believers have been coming up with UFO stories without proof or evidence, sometimes accusing government of collaborating with aliens to control the human population.

From the point of view of the CIA or the American government, to try and hide physical evidence that would lead to these false alarms & rumors by those with the intent of manipulating this physical evidence to their advantage.

So let's suppose an alien spacecraft crashes on Earth. What could that mean? Hardcore believers & conspiracy theorists might scream "look aliens are coming to invade- look at the evidence: a wrecked spacecraft" when the reality might be the spacecraft belonged to peaceful explorers who had nothing to do with the government. Perhaps the craft never even intended to land on Earth and simply got caught in our orbit, causing it to crash. There could be countless reasons. Who knows?

But the point being, that because this has caused mass panic in the past, leading to false rumors, the US government might be doing what it sees right in preventing further damage being done by false conspiracy theorists.
At least this could be the explanation from their point of view.

What if alot of wrongly perceived "UFO crashes" like The Roswell incident is all the remains of a human-made craft. The claims of the debris being an alien spacecraft or probe could be set off by bored people looking for an adventure or people who actually believe it's a UFO crash because they cannot properly identify the vehicles components.

According to a UFO book I've been reading at my local bookstore, Mac Brazel, a key witness in the Roswell incident, was detained by the US military for a week.
After all, he also possessed the wreckage of the alleged spacecraft. What if his finding was simply a misunderstanding and led to what could become a widespread panic amongst the American population, or even worse, a spread in false rumors that would lead to turmoil, hence he was ordered into silence by the military during his detention.
Reports have indeed stated that he was not willing to speak of what he saw or knew about the alleged UFO after his detention.
This is what it could be all about.

This could be the whole reason for government attempts to silence/deny UFO cases.
And even if there is a case(s) of real UFO crashes on Earth, who could possibly know that the crash remains could be dangerous material, perhaps radioactive or composed of other substances dangerous to life on Earth.

Allowing a UFO case to go public would only lead to curious people exposing themselves and perhaps spreading dangerous diseases or other hazards from the UFO & alien remains, forcing the government to keep it silent, until they can guarantee, they pose no threat to Earth's population.
And let's not leave out the spread of false rumors. Though I am no skeptic and believe in life on other planets, I am not ignorant to the fact how many people and news agencies out there exist ready to exploit & exaggerate real or fake cases of UFOs, for fun or for profit.

And if my theories are correct, the government of America and of other countries around the world are justified in keeping these incidents secretive until they can fully guarantee these UFO wreckages/alien corpses pose no threat to the population.
Let's not forget the government's first responsibility is the interests of the people.

Though I also may endorse certain government attempts to limit/control the spread of UFO cases, it's their methods that I disagree with.
So far, from the stories/rumors we hear, they only end up adding fuel to the fire and aiding hardcore believers in their false rumor campaigns. ie. "why is the government trying to cover-up UFO cases by threatening people into silence- they are behind it or know something"
This is the typical claim of hardcore believers/UFO cults.

The government should instead expose the lies of those who create hoaxes and simply mark real/unknown cases as "unkown"
Or a second alternative would be to play along with the hardcore believers and their false rumors to show the world their stupidity. "Yes we're hiding UFOs buried under the ground dig and you'll see....ohh it looks like it turned out to be a World War Two plane...so sorry we assumed it to be a spacecraft" (:P)

But hiding something humans know the existence of is only bound to increase their curiosity. That's human nature.

My encounter with the unexplained

It happened to me when I lived in downtown Toronto. It was a windy night in the autumn of 2006.

I was in my room. I was waiting to fall asleep but was wide awake as I had just hit the sack.
The lights in my room were on.

The wind was howling outside but the windows were tightly shut. Everything in my room was still.
I suddenly felt a rush of air blowing in my face and hair out of nowhere and saw what looked like a perfectly straight string flying past me and straight into the wall vanishing into nothing.

I still don't know what it was till today. I'm not implying I exactly believe in the supernatural but all I know is I saw what I saw and was not dreaming. And I know that no science or logic can explain what I saw.
